Our History
Sherwood Specialties was founded in 1961 by Robert Ellis and Vince Arcuri as a water well manufacturer's representative, initially partnering with Dicken Manufacturing. Shortly thereafter, Warren Olson joined the company after graduating from Alfred University, beginning a lifelong career with Sherwood.
In 1992, Warren and a business partner acquired the company, ushering in a new era of growth and development. By 2008, Warren had become the sole owner and continued expanding Sherwood's manufacturer portfolio to better serve the evolving needs of the water, wastewater, plumbing, and industrial industries.
Looking Toward the Future
In 2024, Laurie Kellogg took the lead at Sherwood Specialties, bringing fresh energy, new ideas, and a commitment to building on the company's strong foundation. As the next generation of leadership, Laurie is focused on strengthening relationships with engineers, contractors, distributors, and wholesalers while expanding Sherwood's bid and specification business.
Under her leadership, Sherwood remains dedicated to delivering the high level of service, technical knowledge, and trusted partnerships that customers have come to expect.
Serving New York and Beyond
Today, Sherwood Specialties has team members located throughout Eastern and Western New York, with coverage extending across Western, Central, Eastern, and Northern New York, as well as Long Island and New Jersey.
We work closely with engineers, contractors, distributors, and wholesalers to help ensure that projects are supported by the right products, accurate specifications, and knowledgeable guidance. From initial design and planning through project completion, our goal is to provide the expertise and dependable service our partners need at every stage.
